#Post 10 : COVID Precautions: Are we taking it as granted?

The number of patients suffering from COVID-19 is increasing. Due to the economy in Recession Phase government is taking steps and trying to make it in Recover Phase. On March 24, 2020, the Government of India under the regime Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered a nationwide lockdown for 21 days, limiting movement of the entire 1.3 billion population of India as a preventive measure against the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

Lockdown leads Lakhs of migrants like daily wage laborers, construction workers, vendors, and non-skilled workers; others may have mechanical and technical skills who are working in the urban city to travel back to their hometowns because of not getting compensation and relief from the government in time.

Scientists around the world are working day and night for making vaccines for the treatment of COVID-19. Several companies are also working on antiviral drugs, some of which are already in use against other illnesses, to treat people who already have COVID-19. Till further notice, the Government advising people to quarantine themselves or to be isolated in their home itself. But the question is - Are we taking pandemic seriously? Do we want our environment to be CORONA free or not?

These questions lead me to the incident which happened a few days back, when I was traveling back to my hometown, everything in the airport seems to be good. People are looking responsible citizens as they were wearing PPE kit, masks, gloves, and shields which were also being provided by the airlines as a safety precaution in this situation of pandemic and People were looking a responsible citizen but when the flight landed everybody is in a hurry of collecting their baggage and going back to homes and forget the strictness of serious issue of pandemic were also getting out of the Airports with these peoples. As people were coming out they were throwing the Kits, gloves mask in dustbins and going back to their homes freely as everything is alright. Who is it to blame? Is it the government or the people who have not done their homework or is it the ticket fare which is letting people take preventive measures for time being?

I think the answer relies on us. We can’t blame everything to the others; it must be us who should take initiative. We all know “Charity begins at home” or “if we want to see the change, we should start it with ourselves first” but as time changes meaning changes. People should understand that their valuable life is connected to many other lives.

Let’s take initiative before getting out of our homes! Let’s take initiative, not for the money which is being paid! Let’s take initiative for lives that are being connected to us!

#Post 20 : WHY FACEBOOK INVESTED IN JIO?

With its $ 5.7 billion investment, Facebook is now Reliance Jio’s largest minority shareholder. This was accompanied by a pact between WhatsApp and Reliance Retail to boost the latter’s JioMart platform.  However, Facebook has been spreading its roots in digital media market by making heavy investments like,   The social media giant bought Instagram for $1 billion in 2012,   WhatsApp for $19 billion in 2014,   and virtual reality firm Oculus VR the same year for another $2 billion.   In all three instances, the common denominators were obvious. The deals all gave Facebook majority of ownership, and brought in technology that the  world’s largest social network  either didn’t have, or saw as prime bolt-on acquisitions. Now its latest investment is of almost $5.7 billion in Reliance’s Jio — for just 10 per cent stake. India is among the largest communities global...
