#Post 22 : Boycott Chinese Goods

Currently the situation between India and China is not good on the border. This is the reason why the confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) on 16th June has decided and mentioned that they are going to boycott 500 “Made in China” products.

The products include furniture, textiles, cosmetic, gift items, electronics, fabrics, kitchen items, watches, toys, hardware, apparel, auto parts etc., which are being boycotted by the CAIT, News-18 reported.

CAIT has mentioned that we should boycott above mentioned Chinese goods and instead of that we should use Indian goods. In the initial phase the body has said that they have set the target to meet the shortfall of $13 billion (Rs 1 lakh crore approx) in imports from China by 2021 December. The first phase has focused on the products that can be made in India but the price has been deciding factor when importing.

CAIT National President BC Bharita and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that there is no need for any special technology to manufacture those items. The goods can be easily manufactured in Indian and it can be the substitute of the Chinese imports which will reduce the dependency on China for those goods.

At this point of time, the goods which need particular technology have not been mentioned in the list. The items which require specific technology are barred from the list until alternative technologies are made available in India  or have any substitutes from its friendly nation.

Further, CAIT is also seeking to raise the concern with Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, to provide support and assistance to small scale industries, entrepreneurs and startups so that it will help the domestic manufacturer to uplift the economy.

#Post 20 : WHY FACEBOOK INVESTED IN JIO?

With its $ 5.7 billion investment, Facebook is now Reliance Jio’s largest minority shareholder. This was accompanied by a pact between WhatsApp and Reliance Retail to boost the latter’s JioMart platform.  However, Facebook has been spreading its roots in digital media market by making heavy investments like,   The social media giant bought Instagram for $1 billion in 2012,   WhatsApp for $19 billion in 2014,   and virtual reality firm Oculus VR the same year for another $2 billion.   In all three instances, the common denominators were obvious. The deals all gave Facebook majority of ownership, and brought in technology that the  world’s largest social network  either didn’t have, or saw as prime bolt-on acquisitions. Now its latest investment is of almost $5.7 billion in Reliance’s Jio — for just 10 per cent stake. India is among the largest communities globally for the company, with close to 328 million users. Instagram has millions of accounts in India, and Wh

#Post 23 : Is Artificial intelligence (A.I.) Powering our strength?

In layman’s terms, artificial intelligence means to give robots and machines the ability to think by analyzing data-based information, behavior, or any characteristics. Elon Musk during his speech at MIT in 2014 compared artificial intelligence as summoning the demon and has quoted "I do think we need to be very careful about the advancement of AI".  However, some potential billionaires in the tech world don’t conclude A.I as Elon Musk does. Resultantly, the pull of heavy investment and acqui-hire by the start-ups is being witnessed from some significant market players like Amazon, Google, Facebook and Microsoft and tech giants. In the present scenario, A.I. has been a prime-focus in building automation to compensate for human accuracy where there is a lack of man-power and constant efforts are being made in areas where human intelligence can be replaced. For instance, healthcare, sales, logistics, research, data analytics and several others are the corners of the world where
